I have long loved the enthusiasm and commitment so many network marketers have towards the MLM industry. But, there is one big problem. First, let me talk about how some MLM bloggers quit in a few months after they have started their blog. They blog 10 to 50 posts. They are excited and they think they are going to go “viral” with their new content.

A few months later, the frequency of their MLM business opportunity blog posts slow down. A couple months after that, they stop. They look at their 20 to 40 views a day to their blog, after posting 40 heartfelt posts, and think: this isn’t worth it. I am never going to make it.
In fact, this is how 90% of new MLM bloggers think and act. There are a sea of dead blogs online, just waiting in single file fashion, like on death row, to be “de-indexed” by Google and erased forever. Blogging is just as hard as growing your network marketing business.
You will go months or years on your MLM blog to generate leads, putting in an insane amount of effort, only to see a few bucks here and there for your efforts. Same with a lot of small businesses, only these are worse because the store owners have to pay for a lease, equipment and product.
We actually have it easier in network marketing because you only need to buy enough product per month for your personal use. So what if you don’t get distributors in your business right away. If you can afford your smartphone bill, you can buy a little new network marketing product to keep you qualified as an Independent Business Owner each month. So, what is the catch?
How do you stop sounding like every other network marketing company blogger and rise above the rest? You stop writing what you think your prospects want to hear. This includes:
1. Your MLM product’s features. Like the ingredients. No one cares if your network marketing product as Omega 3’s derived from leopard eels from Fiji or that your cryptocurrency is cage-free, organic and grass fed.
2. Generic Posts like this: “How to get Leads from Facebook” for your MLM business. Everyone has written about this, websites that have a domain authority of 80 or above, like Entrepreneur and Forbes, have covered this to death. Your blog, with a domain authority of maybe 10 to 15, has no way to be seen writing about general topics, such as “How to get leads with Facebook” or Twitter, or Instagram, TikTok, or Pinterest, etc. Writing about these general topics will seal your coffin faster than ever.
3. How to get rich overnight in the MLM industry. Getting rich quick schemes are unrealistic and set unrealistic expectations for potential downline team leaders.
It is not fun when no one reads your network marketing blog due to bland generic content. Google is a harsh master with no feelings for your content creation. So you’ll need to put your own unique spin on things that allows for niche opportunity and long-tail keywords to rank on Google.
So, instead of generic marketing or multi-level marketing company content: Write about your hobbies and passions, stuff you love. And, if you can, tie it into your business. Write down your interests and topics you would be excited to write about and then find a problem you can solve for other people within those interests. Another great thing to do with your blog is talk to your readers in present tense about your current problems and crisis. People love vulnerable content.
For example: I have been struggling with quitting some pretty big habits lately, and they are pretty personal, like drinking and stimming. I know I’m taking a risk writing about this, but these personal posts have been my most popular, and they help people. Here’s the outline of one of my personal posts: Ask a question to your audience, like: “Do you feel scared around other people?” I then might state some statistics of how many people have anxiety. Then, I tell my personal story in a creative blog post.
Then, I sometimes ask an “imagine” statement, like: “Imagine, feeling great about going anywhere and doing anything with unlimited confidence.” I then wrap it up with 3 to 7 steps to help people get more confident and lose the fear. This helps to differentiate your network marketing blog, zero in on your niche, and rank higher on Google or other top search engines.
Yes, this has little to to do with MLM, network marketing, affiliate sales, or direct selling but if you connect to someone with a real personal issue, they will probably go to your “Work with” page and read more about you. You don’t need to write about anxiety, but you could write about stuff that you’re dealing with or learned how to deal with it. This makes blogging exciting and refreshing again.
You can always write about MLM if you want, but try to focus on a little area of a niche, rather than tackling the monstrous and overwritten “leads on Facebook” crap. Your blog will take at least a year or two to take off. Most people can’t endure this time frame, many don’t even have a clue how long it will take. That’s why they give up.
Just knowing that your MLM blog will take a year or two, sometimes 3 years, will prepare you for the long haul. It is worth it to stick it out with both blogging and network marketing. Both allow you to fire your boss and achieve bigger dreams that no job can provide.
Follow these tips and you’ll be a top MLM blogger and network marketing business leader in the end, just don’t quit! MLM must be mastered to make major money!
